HISTORIAL DO INSTITUTO MÉDIO INDUSTRIAL DE BENGUELA
O Instituto Médio Industrial de Benguela (IMIB) sito em Benguela, limitada norte pela Av. Dr. António A. Neto, a sul pelo bairro da Cambanda, a este Escola do IIIº Nível Comandante Cassanje a oeste fica o Lar de estudantes do Ensino Médio (Ex-UNECA),ocupa uma área de 58.700m2
Foi fundada em 1958 sob a denominação de escola Industrial e Comercial Venâncio Deslandes; Os seus alunos então provenientes da Escola Cerveira Pereira. Ela, é uma das infraestruturas mais antigas da Província de Benguela, tendo sido construída na década dos anos 30 (1935), com objectivo de responder à demanda de Técnicos da altura.
Apôs a Independência, funcionou inicialmente como escola do ensino Secundário. Em l977, o Ministério da Educação cria um decreto à Direcção Nacional do Ensino Médio Técnico apenas com os cursos gerais e médios de Electricidade e Mecânica .
Em 1978, muda de nomenclatura para Instituto Médio de Mecânica Comandante Dangereux a seguir para Instituto Politécnico apartir de 1984/85, passou a ser Médio Industrial apartir de 1989/90.
